There’s something about screens.
The constant staring, probably. It all seems a bit empty yet we’re connected, apparently. Hours of scrolling, gaming and pornography how does that bind us? Please enlighten me. What about we call it the “Bedroom Retreat”; it also works with the office. As long as you sit stiff and frenetically press each keyboard’s key. Fighting against religions might have just created a new heresy:
.DARK CIRCLES - SLOW BRAIN - SLAVE TO THE STATE.
Personalised screens followed TV. More choice, less time to “make it.” Keeping the mind busy but not with the right perspectives; the expired date looking more and more definitive. Victim mentality OR Digital apoplexy?
Staring at the mirror or a screen, it's the same really. Différents angles de non-réflexion et zéro prise de conscience. Ne pas trop en demander à l’heure de la victimisation.
Boredom perhaps caught us up and creating drama AS SOON AS has become the new mantra. A hunt for validation, a click for excitement. Raising one’s voice to shut down all questions: THE NORM. No attempt to research or contextualise, the agenda hides behind one’s shadows; they’re boiling, the turmoil loading, while oppression discourses unveil from each topic that ever existed.
The patriarchy,
it always bows down to this patriarchal fuckery. But not only. Self-centredness now equals to SELF-CARE and wellness.
From white old men telling women when to eat to “girl dinner” finally freeing wives [they help them lose 7 hours of additional chores daily, it’s been proven scientifically], men trashing is spreading; even dinner time now embodies white supremacy. Having bircher muesli for breakfast equally. The same goes for being healthy or going to the gym. The self and its plural.
Self-esteem and self-respect, where do they stand in 2023? A plethora of identities invaded the internet through image-moving overloading. “My 6 am morning routine” or “Living alone in NY”: on one side, voyeurism, on the other, self-indulgence. Brainwashed monologues meet familiar landscapes. A series of one individual’s echo. How to care. Belle contradiction quand le combat envers le capitalisme s’infiltre jusque dans tes reels. Laissez les gens croire qu’ils comptent pour qu’ils cliquent et rentabilisent.
THE INSANITY.
BEING ONESELF. ASSUMING THE WEIGHT THAT COMES WITH IT. NOT TO DELEGATE BUT TO APPROPRIATE AND REEVALUATE. BREAKING NEWS: THE OTHER DOESN’T ALWAYS HOLD THE BLAME.
>> Groups of individuals turned sheep. Losing their choice towards self-expression. The struggle to be alone. Not many know how to anymore. In other words:
± The use of Others to be happier.
>> A life well-spent is time dedicated to constant triggering. Pushing all buttons to get reactions, more outrage and fake acknowledgment. Portraying the inhumanly perfect, preaching without really understanding the brief.
± The echo chambers of virtue-signaling.
>> Raising voices to impose ways of thinking. One truth only because no else really gets it. You’re the victim, the first of your kind. Nobody ever experienced the difficulties you’re facing.
± Today requires you to become a martyr to feel seen.
These days, it’s either black or white. No shades or nuances. You’re in or you’re out. If you’re out, time for you to “die;” a social death to remind you of witch trials.
Modernising medieval times.
Many grey areas and self-confessed experts. Instead of admitting confusion, let’s blame the Other until oblivion. Spending a lifetime internally carrying one’s mistakes sounds rather appropriate. How complicated nowadays to review one’s behaviour and change paths. With so much knowledge available online, you’d like to think that one would use it. For one’s own benefit.
